Cary Audio SLP-98L — hand-wired vacuum tube preamplifier, line stage only. The SLP-98L is a pure Class A, zero-feedback vacuum tube line preamplifier that delivers the hallmark warmth and resolution of the celebrated SLP-98 design in a streamlined line-only configuration. Matched 6SN7 and 6SL7 triodes in a hand-wired, single-ended circuit — with an outboard power supply that eliminates transformer hum from the audio chassis entirely — achieve a noise floor of –88 dB and a frequency response spanning 5 Hz to 163 kHz. With four RCA inputs, both RCA and XLR outputs, remote volume control, and a unity-gain direct mode, the SLP-98L serves equally as the heart of a dedicated two-channel system or integrated into a home cinema configuration.
