Reference super-inductive external power supply for Gold Note 1000-series components, featuring 7 transformers, 7 ultra-low-noise voltage regulators and selectable absolute phase control. Noise rejection exceeds 80dB with 0.05% output voltage stability and full-power response under 2.5 microseconds. Dynamic power exceeds 300W; 430×135×360mm chassis, 21kg.
Technical background
GoldNote external power supplies use Super Inductive Dual Choke (SIDC) technology — dual inductor rails that reject common-mode and differential-mode interference simultaneously, achieving >80dB noise rejection. Ultra-low-noise voltage regulators maintain 0.05% output stability with full-power response under 2.5 microseconds, ensuring the connected component is never starved of current during dynamic peaks in the audio signal.
Design story
GoldNote's external PSU philosophy evolved from the discovery that the noise ceiling of their internal power supplies — while carefully designed — could be lowered by dedicated outboard units. The SIDC technology was developed in-house and refined over successive generations; the PSU-1250 now deploys seven independent transformers and regulators, achieving a noise floor that is effectively inaudible even on the most revealing phono stages and DACs in the GoldNote range.
