PROPHECY7

The PMC prophecy7 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker adding a 55mm soft-dome midrange driver — housed within PMC's proprietary n-compass waveguide — to the prophecy5's bass and tweeter configuration. The dedicated midrange unit handles the critical vocal and instrumental frequency band, crossing over at 600Hz and 3.1kHz. A 1.91m ATL transmission line with LaminairX venting provides bass extension to 40Hz. Handcrafted in Britain. The PMC prophecy7 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker and the step-up model in the Prophecy range, adding a dedicated 55mm soft-dome precision midrange driver to the prophecy5's architecture — a configuration that allows each frequency range to be handled by a driver optimised exclusively for that task. The midrange driver operates between the 134mm LTXL bass/woofer and the 27mm silk-dome tweeter in a separate acoustically isolated chamber, eliminating the intermodulation between bass and midrange frequencies that is the fundamental limitation of two-way designs. The ATL™ bass labyrinth runs 1.91 metres inside the cabinet, loading the bass driver correctly and extending response to a genuine 40Hz with exceptional control and pitch definition. Cabinet construction uses the same CNC-routed internal baffle and curved front-face diffraction control as all Prophecy models. The prophecy7 is awarded five stars by What Hi-Fi and praised for 'exceptional clarity and seamless presentation.' Frequency response: 40Hz–20kHz (-3dB); sensitivity: 88dB/1W/1m; impedance: 6Ω. Technical background

The prophecy7 introduces a dedicated soft-dome midrange driver to the Prophecy architecture, handling the 400 Hz–3 kHz range that contains the fundamental frequencies and lower harmonics of most musical instruments. Combined with the LaminairX ATL for bass and the SEAS Excel tweeter for treble, the prophecy7 delivers a complete three-way presentation.
