2-way bookshelf/standmount speaker — PMC Prodigy Series. The PMC Prodigy1 is a compact two-way standmount loudspeaker featuring a 5.25-inch natural fibre long-throw woofer and 27mm soft-dome tweeter, with a 1.91m ATL transmission line providing bass extension to 50Hz from a relatively small cabinet. It is PMC's entry point into the home audio range and shares the same ATL design philosophy as the flagship SE series.

Technical background

The Prodigy1 brings PMC's proprietary Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading — the same technology used in the company's professional studio monitors — to an affordable two-way active monitor. The 1.79-metre ATL extends flat bass response significantly below what a reflex or sealed design of this size could achieve, providing the honest low-frequency reproduction that makes mix decisions transfer correctly.

Designed and built in Luton alongside PMC's flagship SE studio monitors, the Prodigy1 was developed to give home studio producers access to professional transmission line accuracy for the first time.
