3-way passive standmount with dedicated stands — PMC SE Series. The PMC MB2 SE is a three-way passive reference standmount loudspeaker with a 3m ATL transmission line delivering bass extension to 20Hz. It uses a 12-inch PMC Radial woofer, 75mm PMC75 SE soft-dome midrange, and 27mm SONOLEX soft-dome tweeter. The SE refinements include enhanced internal bracing, upgraded crossover components, and custom driver surrounds. Supplied with dedicated stands.
Technical background
The MB2 SE extends PMC's ATL technology to a 3-metre acoustic path, delivering flat bass extension to 20 Hz from a three-way driver array. The 12" Radial woofer operates in the ATL enclosure with LAMINAIR™ port loading, the 75mm midrange dome covers the critical 380 Hz–3.8 kHz range, and the 27mm SONOLEX tweeter provides extended high-frequency resolution. Tri-wire/tri-amp connectivity is supported.
Design story
The MB2 has been the midfield monitor of choice for landmark recordings across jazz, classical, rock and electronic music for over two decades. Made at PMC's Luton factory and used at facilities including Metropolis, The Townhouse and numerous mastering suites, the SE upgrade elevates its performance to a new reference level.
