3-way passive standmount studio monitor with dedicated stands — PMC SE Series. The PMC IB2 SE is a three-way passive reference standmount loudspeaker supplied with dedicated stands, featuring a 10-inch carbon fibre and Nomex woofer, a 75mm large-format soft-dome midrange driver, and a 27mm SONOLEX soft-dome tweeter. PMC's 2.4m ATL transmission line provides bass extension to 25Hz in a cabinet that remains manageable in size. The SE designation includes upgraded internal wiring and precision-tuned crossover components.
Technical background
The IB2 SE employs PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) — a 2.4-metre folded acoustic path that loads the bass driver with a column of air, extending flat response to 25 Hz without the port colorations inherent to reflex designs. The LAMINAIR™ port eliminates turbulence noise at all listening levels, while the 75mm soft-dome midrange driver delivers the resolution that has made IB2 the industry standard in broadcast and recording.
