FACT12

3-way floorstanding speaker — pinnacle of the PMC Fact Signature Series. The PMC Fact12 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker adding a dedicated 3-inch soft-dome midrange driver to the Fact8's woven carbon fibre woofer and SONOLEX tweeter configuration. A 3.3m ATL transmission line provides bass extension to 27Hz. The narrow profile cabinet uses PMC's Laminair port technology and is constructed from layered birch plywood with a lacquer finish.

Technical background

The Fact12 introduces a dedicated 2-inch soft-dome midrange driver to the Fact architecture, handling the critical 400 Hz–4 kHz range with the full-range resolution that a two-way driver cannot match. The 3.3-metre ATL provides exceptional bass extension to 26 Hz, and the SEAS Excel tweeter delivers ultra-low distortion treble to 30 kHz. The crossover uses capacitors specified by the University of Salford's audio research department.

Developed as the flagship of the original Fact Signature range, the Fact12 represents the point at which PMC's transmission line engineering intersects with the world's finest driver technology and crossover components. It remains in production because its combination of resolution, dynamics and bass accuracy has not been surpassed in its price class.
