Technical background
The F1-5 uses Fyne's IsoFlare coincident driver — a 5-inch woofer with the tweeter mounted coaxially through the centre of the cone. This point-source geometry ensures both drivers share a common acoustic origin, eliminating time-arrival differences that cause comb filtering and image instability in conventional two-way designs. The BassTrax tractrix diffuser fires downward through the cabinet base, distributing bass energy omnidirectionally and reducing room placement sensitivity.
Design story
Designed and manufactured at Fyne Audio's Lennoxtown factory in Scotland, the F1-5 was developed to offer the full IsoFlare acoustic architecture in the smallest practical enclosure. It is built to the same standards as the F1-8 and F1-8S, with handcrafted cabinet work and individually matched driver pairs.
