Technical background
The Classic 8 SM uses an 8-inch IsoFlare coincident driver in a flat-front baffle enclosure — a design optimised for nearfield monitoring, where a minimal baffle edge reduces diffraction. This gives the Classic 8 SM a more accurate and controlled HF presentation compared to the BassTrax-ported Classic 8 floorstander.
Design story
Designed as the standmount member of the Vintage Classic family with a specific studio monitor character, the Classic 8 SM was developed in response to requests from recording musicians who wanted Fyne's IsoFlare accuracy in a format suited to both studio and domestic use.
