Each ASTRU shell is CNC-machined from a solid block of pure titanium and processed through a multilayer electroplating cycle that takes up to seven days per matched pair, resulting in a signature satin finish that is as refined to the touch as it is visually understated. At just 13.4g, the full-titanium housing is simultaneously one of the most durable and most comfortable earphone chassis Meze Audio has produced, building on the ergonomic geometry of ALBA and ADVAR. At its acoustic core is a 10mm dynamic driver of exceptional complexity: a multilayer composite diaphragm combines a PEEK dome base with a bonded titanium layer for stiffness and transient speed, topped by 80 ultra-thin layers of gold applied via physical vacuum DC magnetron sputtering over a 48-hour process — a technique borrowed from industrial precision manufacturing — for precisely controlled resonance and tonal density. Inner and outer ring magnets with a vented backplate and a front magnetic spacer form a precision magnetic architecture that maximises driver excursion linearity and dynamic contrast. The result is a sound signature that is full-bodied, naturally timbred, and highly resolved: tight, impactful bass, a transparent and engaging midrange, and extended treble that retrieves fine musical detail without listening fatigue. ASTRU uses a 2-Pin modular cable connection for long-term serviceability and includes a premium silver-plated LC-OFC cable (161 conductors per strand, SoftFlex PVC insulation, CNC-anodized aluminium housings) terminated in a gold-plated 4.4mm balanced plug, plus a 4.4mm-to-3.5mm adapter, five pairs of liquid silicone ear tips (XS–XL), a hard protective pouch, and a soft PU leather envelope.
