S-TRAX

Compact passive supertweeter extending high-frequency response from 16kHz to 50kHz, designed to sit atop any loudspeaker to add ultra-high-frequency resolution and improved soundstage depth. Compatible with speakers up to 98dB sensitivity. The S-Trax is a compact passive omnidirectional supertweeter from Fyne Audio, featuring a 25mm magnesium dome driver firing vertically onto a precision-engineered Tractrix diffuser cone for 360-degree high-frequency dispersion. It operates above 16kHz to extend system bandwidth and enhance harmonic integrity and phase coherence at the top of the audible range. A metal level control knob provides ±4.5dB adjustment for matching to the main speaker's sensitivity.

Technical background

The S-Trax uses a conventional dome or ribbon high-frequency driver (as opposed to the SuperTrax plasma transducer) to extend system response beyond 30kHz. Like the SuperTrax, it is capacitor-coupled and connects in parallel with any loudspeaker — no system modification required.

The S-Trax was designed as the accessible entry to Fyne's supertweeter range — offering the high-frequency extension principle of the SuperTrax at a significantly lower price, using a conventional rather than plasma high-frequency transducer.
