Technical background
The F1-8 employs an 8-inch IsoFlare coincident driver — one of the most technically advanced coaxial designs in production. The tweeter fires through a precision waveguide mounted through the centre of the woofer cone, producing a true point source with a single acoustic centre. BassTrax technology fires bass through a tractrix-shaped port in the plinth, providing omnidirectional low-frequency loading with minimal rear-wall sensitivity.
Design story
The F1-8 is Fyne Audio's benchmark standmount — the speaker that established the brand's reputation internationally following the company's founding in 2017 by engineers including several formerly at Tannoy. It is designed and built at Fyne's Lennoxtown factory, giving it a direct design lineage to some of British hi-fi's most respected loudspeakers.
